Why do you want it?

You have a Leader 801, GR201, GV201, or other bike with a less-than-standard 6mm bearing seat depth, and you would like to clean up the routing. You may also be experiencing preloading issues with the stock headset.

These headset covers will keep your cables neatly tucked away while allowing you to use a wide variety of stems, including the FSA / Vision SMR and ACR, S-Works Tarmac, Kalloy Uno, and Enve In-Route, as well as one-piece bar stems from FSA / Vision, EXS, Enve, Tavelo, and more.

What is it?

This set of parts is modified from my general headset collection to have a 55.8mm OD to match the 56mm OD headtubes used on these bikes, and the internal mating surfaces are modified to work with the reduced bearing seat depth.

Please note that they must be used either with an FSA or Deda upper headset, including BOTH the C Ring and the bearing. It is not designed to be used with the stock headset setup.

Please verify this fitment by measuring your bike with the bearing removed along the inside of the head tube. It should measure around 6mm from the top edge of the frame to the bearing seat. Alternatively, you can message us to confirm fitment.

There are currently five versions of this part, each further customized to support your choice of headset.

  1. The FSA / Vision ACR version allows you to use FSA ACR split spacers or transition spacers for the FSA / Vision ACR system. This design has a height of 4-5mm.
  2. The FSA  / Vision Direct Fit SMR version will enable you to use the FSA  / Vision SMR and SMR-II stems mounted directly and slammed for a low stack height and streamlined look. This design has a height of 6mm.
  3. The Enve version is designed only for use with the Enve InRoute system. This design features a height of 4-5mm and is compatible with Enve split spacers.
  4. The EXS version is designed only for use with the EXS barstem. This design features a height of 6mm and is designed to fit under the transition spacer supplied with the bar. EXS spacers can be used between the headset cover and the transition spacer.
  5. Tavelo Avro adapter version allows you to use the Tavelo angled spacers. This design is angled, resulting in a profile similar to a 5mm stack cover in our other designs.

How is it Made?

These parts are printed in the USA on Commercial Grade HP Multi-Jet Fusion machines. Parts designed to hold preload are made using PA12GB. While this material costs over 2x more than traditional PA12 Nylon, the addition of the glass increases its strength under compression by 80% and, in this application, eliminates creep. Given that SLS and MJF printed nylons are only 60%-70% of the density of the high-pressure injection-molded parts made by OEMs, this assures OEM-level performance.

This part must be properly installed and the headset preloaded to the manufacturer's specifications.
